The Del Mar Station development in Pasadena, CA was built around a light rail station that is part of Los Angeles’ Metro rapid transit rail system. The project includes rental apartments at a density of 100 units per acre, as well as restaurants, shops, plazas, and courtyards. A 1,200-car underground garage provides parking for residents, visitors, and Metro riders. A historic train depot was rehabilitated as part of the project. Del Mar Station residents can walk to nearby Old Town Pasadena, a historic business district; each January, they can also walk to the route of the Rose Parade.

The light rail line runs directly underneath apartments at Del Mar Station. Most of the units are market rate, but a percentage of the units—dispersed throughout the project—are reserved for lower income residents.
